Agile Network Builders Announces Partnership Bringing Public Wi-Fi to All Ohio Turnpike Service Plazas
In time for Thanksgiving rush, 14 plazas get consistent, free, reliable Wi-Fi for first time
CANTON, OH (Nov. 21, 2019)—Agile Network Builders, LLC (“Agile”), a division of InSite Wireless Group, LLC (“InSite”), and the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission today announced a partnership to bring publicly accessible Wi-Fi to all Ohio Turnpike Service Plazas for the first time.
Agile, through the partnership, established connectivity and will manage and support the Wi-Fi on an ongoing basis. The partnership is an expansion of Agile’s relationship with the Ohio Turnpike. Since 2016, Agile has provided data transport connections for public safety services.
“This year-long project was completed at the perfect time, as thousands of travelers from in and around Ohio prepare for the Thanksgiving travel rush,” Agile Network Builders President Kyle Quillen said. “This is an excellent opportunity to grow our partnership with the Commission and is a perfect utilization of our expertise in municipal and government telecommunications, ensuring reliable Wi-Fi is available across the turnpike.”
The first day of operation, the new system served several hundred users. Each plaza has signage with a 24/7 support phone number to reach Agile’s Network Operations Center. Agile is monitoring and providing management for all equipment associated with the operation of the guest Wi-Fi Network.
The mesh-style network has access points installed inside the service terminal making reliable Wi-Fi available inside the guest service areas.
